How Health Bingo Works 

Players aged 18 or over can visit our partner site Health Bingo to play bingo, slots, casino games and a betting game called the Health Jackpot.  A 200% deposit bonus is offered for bingo games on the site, up to £150.

How the Health Lottery Work

Is The Health Lottery in any way related to the National Lottery?

No, the health lottery is not a national lottery. The Health Lottery is a totally independent lottery scheme. We’re in no way affiliated to The National Lottery.

How does the Health Lottery work?

Each week one or more different society lotteries take part in the lottery draws. They then donate money raised through their lottery to health related good causes within their respective communities, working with them to prioritise needs. Running things this way means every single part of Great Britain gets an appropriate share of the monies raised. No matter where you live, you will be able to see the society lotteries making a difference.

20p in every £1 goes to support local health related good causes.

How much can I win?

Our prize structure is simple. You must match the numbers on the same line in order to win.

Match any 2 numbers and the Bonus Ball and win £10    

Match any 3 numbers and win £20

Match any 3 numbers and the Bonus Ball and win £50

Match any 4 numbers and win £250

Match any 4 numbers and the Bonus Ball and win £10,000

Match all 5 numbers and win up to £100,000*.

How much is donated to good causes?

20p of every £1 played is donated to health-related good causes across Great Britain.

Where does the money go?

The aim of the Health Lottery is to raise money for health related good causes across Great Britain.

Health Lottery money is available to local initiatives that help people to lead longer, healthier lives. The Health Lottery doesn’t fund services covered by existing NHS funding, and those causes that do benefit are chosen by local people in association with our partner charity the Peoples Health Trust.

The sorts of project that receive funding include support for older people to keep fit and help avoid vascular dementia, respite programmes giving young carers a much needed break, and community healthy-living initiatives, which help people reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and cancer. [top]

Playing the Health Lottery

Where can I buy a ticket? 

You can either buy your ticket online or over the counter at a Health Lottery retailer.

To buy online you’ll first need to open a Health Lottery account.

To buy over the counter, just visit your nearest Health Lottery retailer. Use our retailer search to find out where it is.

How do I buy a ticket online?

You will need to open a Health Lottery online account. Then just choose your 5 numbers and the dates you want to play. Simple!

Can I play if I’m outside Great Britain?

To open an online account you do need to have a GB bank account and a GB address. Game rules 5.2 iii (c) clearly states that Players may not purchase a Play or set up a Direct Debit when physically located outside Great Britain.

Where can I check the draw results?

You can check them on TV, online, visit a Health Lottery retailer, and the winning numbers will be printed in the Sunday papers or The Health Lottery customer helpline on 0844 375 55 55. Calls to this number cost 5p per minute from a BT landline. Cost from other networks may vary.

The Health Lottery draw shows are broadcast every Wednesday and Saturday evening, exclusively on Channel 5.

How will I know if I’ve won a prize?

If you have played online we’ll send you an email asking you to sign in and check your account. When you do, select the Your Account history section, where you’ll find details of any winning tickets you’ve bought online.

If you’ve purchased a ticket from a Health Lottery retailer you can check if you’ve won by checking the results online or in the Sunday papers, watching the TV draw,  or by taking  your ticket to a Health Lottery retailer and ask them to check it for you.

How can I claim my winnings?

Online Players:

If you’ve played online and matched any 2 winning numbers and the bonus ball, 3 winning numbers, 3 winning numbers and the bonus ball or 4 numbers you don’t need to do anything else. Your winnings will be paid directly into your online player account. 
If you have matched 4 winning numbers and the bonus ball or 5 winning numbers please call the Health Lottery Helpline on 0844 375 55 55, where our Winner Advisers are on hand to support you. They will help you with arrangements to collect your prize and anything else you need to know.
Retail Players:

2 WINNING NUMBERS AND THE BONUS BALL:

If you've matched any 2 main winning numbers and the bonus ball grab your winning ticket (you can't collect your prize without it) and head to any Health Lottery retailer. All our retailers are authorised to pay out the £10 prizes.

3 WINNING NUMBERS:

If you've matched any 3 main winning numbers grab your winning ticket (you can't collect your prize without it) and head to any Health Lottery retailer. All our retailers are authorised to pay out our £20 prizes

3 WINNING NUMBERS AND THE BONUS BALL:

If you've matched any 3 numbers and the bonus ball grab your winning ticket (you can't collect your prize without it) and head to any Health Lottery retailer. All our retailers are authorised to pay out £50 prizes. If you’re lucky enough to have won more than £50 you need to call the Health Lottery Helpline on 0844 375 55 55.

4 WINNING NUMBERS:

To collect your £250 prize just call the Health Lottery Helpline on 0844 375 55 55**. Health Lottery retailers can't pay out £250 prizes, but they can check your ticket to see if you're a winner.

4 WINNING NUMBERS AND THE BONUS BALL:

£10,000 prize winners will need to call the Health Lottery Helpline on 0844 375 55 55** to claim their prize. Our Winner Advisers will be on hand to support you. They will help you with arrangements to collect your prize and anything else you need to know.

Bonus Ball

How does the bonus ball work?

The introduction of a bonus ball to our game provides players with the chance to win more prizes without having to select an additional number. No catch, nothing, nada.

During the draw 5 balls from 50 are selected; prior to the introduction of a bonus ball our players had the opportunity to match 3, 4, or 5 balls from this selection.

We will then draw an additional ball from the remaining 45 balls to generate a bonus ball and this then provides players the chance to match any of the 5 numbers they have selected against the 6 numbers drawn to offer the chance of winning one of 3 fantastic new prize levels.

Match 2 numbers plus the bonus ball you win £10, a fantastic £50 for 3 plus the bonus ball and a massive £10,000 for matching four balls plus the bonus ball. These are in addition to our usual prizes for matching 3, 4 or 5 balls.

Do I need to select a 6th number?

No, you don’t need to do anything different, simply play your 5 selected numbers or, if you prefer play using a Quick Pick which will generate a randomly generated set of 5 numbers.

 During the draw 5 main balls from 50 are selected; an additional ball is then selected from the remaining 45 balls to generate our all new Bonus Ball.

Can I use my playcard to purchase a ticket?

Yes, simply hand the playcard containing your selected number to any participating Health Lottery retailer, they will then generate your ticket and all you need to do is check if you’re a winner!

I purchased my ticket weeks ago for future draws, am I eligible to Bonus Ball prize level?

Yes, all tickets purchased prior to the 11th May for entries into draws after this date are eligible for the new prizes 

I play by direct debit/online with a debit card, are my entries automatically eligible for the new prizes?

Yes, they are and if you are lucky enough to win a prize we will notify you by e-mail. 

What are the additional prize levels?

Player will win £10 prize for matching 2 plus bonus, a fantastic £50 for 3 plus bonus and a massive £10,000 for matching four balls plus bonus. These are in addition to our usual prizes of £20 for matching 3 balls, £250 for 4 balls and up to £100,000* for matching all 5 balls.

The price will remain at £1 per line.

How do I claim my prize?

Prizes for up to the value of £50 can be collected from any participating Health Lottery retailer. Prizes of up £250 can be claimed at your nearest participating Post Office.

To claim a prize over the amount simply call us on 0844 375 55 55 for further information on the prize claim process.

Where are the results published?

The draw show is broadcast on Channel 5 at 21:55 every Wednesday and Saturday and results are published on our website, www.healthlottery.co.uk, or in the Daily Star and Daily Express newspapers. Your local retailer can also print the winning numbers for you.

Our Instant Win Games are all priced £1.

Do I need an online account to play these games?

Yes you do, it’s very simple to sign up, in fact there’s a button at the top of this page. Just click “Sign Up”, tell us a bit about yourself, and if you want to buy games you’ll need to deposit some funds (£5 minimum).

Can I try Instant Win Games first?

Absolutely! There is a “try me” version of each game available for you to play. We need to make sure that we don’t let people under 16 play any of our games, even the “free” versions, so we’ll just need you to log in to your account before you can play them.

How do the good causes benefit from these games?

It’s just the same as with our draw game; 20p in every £1 played is donated directly to health-related good causes.

What prizes can I win?

That depends on what game you’re playing, one game may have a higher top prize than another, but the other game may have a better chance of winning the lower prizes. Around 70p in every pound played goes to prizes. You can click on a game to see the prizes available and odds for each prize.

What happens if I win a prize?

Firstly congratulations! We’re guessing that the first thing you’ll do depends on how much you’ve won, anything from a little smile to a full-on happy-dance. While you’re doing that we’ll pay your winnings straight in to your wallet.
If you win one of the £10,000 prizes (that’s a happy-dance one by the way) we’ll need to check your identity before you can withdraw the prize. It’s a compliance thing, but we’ll be in touch to talk to you about it, it’s not difficult.

Can I see a history of my plays?

Yes, when you’re logged in click on “Your Account”, and then “My Games History”. 

Your Health Lottery online account

How do I register for a Health Lottery online account?

Click the Sign up link, visible at the top of every page  www.healthlottery.co.uk, then just follow the instructions.

To open your online account you need to have a GB bank account and a GB address. Once you’ve registered you’ll be able to play online, save your numbers and set up a direct debit so you never miss a draw.

I’ve forgotten my account username and/or password. What do I do?

Your username is always the email address you used to signed up for your Health Lottery account.

If you can’t remember your password click the Forgotten your password? link at the very top of the page, enter your email address, and we’ll send you a secure link so you can set a new password.

How do I change my debit card details?

Log in to your Health Lottery account, and go the Your Account section. Click on Manage your debit card and you’ll be able to add the new details. 

You can only change these details online if your debit card has expired. If you want to change your card details for any other reason please call The Health Lottery helpline on 0844 375 55 55.

You can also sign in to your Health Lottery account and go to the games history section to see the details of all your online purchases.

How do I change my address online?

Sign in to your Health Lottery account and go to the Your Account section. Select  My Detailsand update the form with your new address.

How do I transfer or remove funds?

Sign in to your Health Lottery account and go to the Your account section. Select Withdraw funds and follow the instructions. For security, you’ll need to enter your password. The withdrawal will be processed to your debit card.

How long after I withdraw from my online account does it take to transfer funds into my bank account?

It can take up to 5 working days for the money to be credited to your bank account, although we do submit the transaction straight away.

Can I view my ticket details if I play online?

Yes. After you buy your ticket online you should receive an email confirming your chosen numbers and the local society lotteries taking part in the draws you’ve entered.

Can I cancel a ticket I bought online?

No. Once you buy your ticket you can’t cancel it, so it’s important to check all the details before you commit to the final click. [top]

Playcards

How do I store my numbers on my playcard?

You add your numbers when you activate your playcard. There’s a few easy ways to do this. Your retailer can do it for you. You can do it by texting the 11 digit card number to 63450. You can ring the Health Lottery helpline on 0844 375 55 55. Or you can store your numbers on your playcard online.

What happens if I Iose my playcard?

You can just pick up a new one from your local Health Lottery retailer. Playcards don’t store any personal information and have no cash value. They’re just a convenient way of saving your favourite numbers.

What information is stored on my playcard?

Don’t worry. No personal information is stored on your playcard. Only your favourite numbers making it quick and easy to play The Health Lottery in store. [top]

Direct Debit Promotion

The Health Lottery may from time to time offer a promotion for new direct debit players. Any free play offered as part of these promotions will be paid for by the Health Lottery.

How will this promotion work in terms of payment?

You’ll need to set up a direct debit subscription in the usual way at www.healthlottery.co.uk. The full amount for the direct debit payment will be collected as per the regular direct debit payments. We will then credit your bank account the free 1 week of play. This may take up to 4 weeks to appear in your account. You will not be entered into the draw until the direct debit payment has been collected from your account.

Can I cancel the direct debit subscription?

The direct debit can be cancelled at any time.

Is there a maximum number of lines I can play using this offer?

The maximum number of lines you can play online on The Health Lottery is 40. You can enter the promotion for up to all 40 lines.

When is this promotion taking place?

This promotion will run from 1st of February at 20:01 to the 31st of May at 20:00.  The Health Lottery reserves the right to cancel or extend this promotion at any time.

What is a Health Lottery syndicate?

A Health Lottery syndicate is when you team up with other Health Lottery players; these could be family, friends or colleagues, to increase your chances of winning.

Why set up a syndicate?

By playing The Health Lottery, you are already seven times more likely to win our top prize compared to Lotto, but you have an even better chance of winning if you buy more tickets as part of a syndicate.

Hot Ticket Raffle

The Health Lottery will be offering a fantastic promotion in the form of a raffle between the dates of 08th March and 29th March 2014.

The transaction reference number will become the raffle number and will be entered into a raffle following each of the draws between the above dates. The raffle will work in the same way as our previous Hot Ticket.

Online players that purchased entries after 22:30 on Wednesday 5th March will see their raffle number on the e-mail confirmation with the prefix of IW and direct debit players will receive this on the play confirmation with the prefix of SD. Mobile internet players will be allocated a code starting with IM.

How the raffle works - Buying your ticket over the counter

One ticket, many lines

If you buy multiple lines on one ticket, say five lines, you will get one raffle code that will be entered into the raffle pot five times, meaning you have five chances to win with one code. It also means you only have to check one code. If your raffle code is selected more than once you are entitled to claim all relevant prizes – so five entries with one code can still win you all the raffle prizes associated with that draw.

Many tickets, one line

If you buy five single tickets for one week’s draw you will get five individual raffle codes. The codes will be entered into the raffle pot just once each. You will have to check all five raffle codes against the winning codes.

One line for many weeks

If you buy one line on a ticket which you want to play with four weeks in advance (or more) you will get one raffle code which will be entered into the draws you have paid for. You will then check the same raffle code each week to see if you have won – it makes it easier for you.

One ticket, many lines for many weeks

If you buy multiple lines for multiple weeks, let’s say you put on 5 lines for 4 weeks in advance; you will still only have one raffle code printed on your ticket. That code will be entered into the raffle pot 5 times on week 1, five times on week 2, five times on week 3 and five times on week 4. You will then have to check only one raffle code each week to see if you have won. And if your raffle code is selected more than once you are entitled to claim all relevant prizes – so five entries with one code can still win you all the raffle prizes associated with that draw.

Buying your ticket online or by direct debit

When you play online you will get one entry into the raffle per purchase. So if you play five lines for one week your individual raffle code will be entered into the draw five times, meaning you have five chances to win with that code.

If you chose to play five lines for four weeks you will still only get one code, but that individual raffle code will be entered five times for each of the four weeks.

The raffle number will be included in your e-mail confirmation when you place your entries.

And because we know you don’t want to spend all that time checking your raffle codes we do it for you, so you can sit back, relax and let us do the work. And when you win, we will contact you and let you know.

Q: Will my raffle number be printed on my Health Lottery ticket?

Yes, your Raffle number will be printed on your ticket. Your 12 digit code will be printed under where it says ‘Entry Confirmed’

Q: How do I know that my raffle number will be entered for the amount of entries I have purchased?

A: An independent adjudicator witnesses that the hot ticket draw is carried out in accordance with our internal procedures. We perform the draw using a Gambling Commission approved Random Number Generator

Q:  What happens if my raffle number is drawn but I have multiple entries, can I win a second prize if the number is drawn again?

A: Yes, that is correct. If you have multiple entries and your number is drawn more than once you can collect both prizes!

Q: I play online and cannot find my raffle number?

A: The raffle number was included on the e-mail confirmation sent to you when you placed your entry; if you don’t have this we can supply this information to you.  

If the purchase was made prior to the promotion with forward plays the raffle code would not be shown on the e-mail confirmation. However one of the benefits of playing online is that you will be automatically notified should you win.  

Q: I purchased my ticket with forward plays during the promotional period but it doesn’t show a raffle number, have I been entered? 

A: The raffle number is shown at the top of your ticket and appears after the words ‘Ref’, this is the raffle code associated with your ticket. 

Q: Why am I not allocated a separate raffle number for each line I have purchased?

A: The system for the raffle generates one code only, rest assured that the code contains one entry per line purchased so the more lines you play, the more chances you have in the raffle

Q: I purchased my ticket with forward plays and it doesn’t show when the promotion ended, I thought the raffle was ongoing? 

A:  The raffle promotion was applicable for entries between 8th March and 29th March. 

We did advertise the information across a number of publications and the promotional period was mentioned during our draw show. In addition we updated our website, Twitter and Facebook pages whilst ensuring the Terms and Conditions associated with this promotion were available to view and download.

All Health Lottery retailers received new promotional material to help raise awareness of this promotion and how it worked.  The promotional message was not shown on your ticket due to the purchase taking place before the promotion started.

Q: Why isn’t the raffle shown during the TV draw show?

A: This is because the raffle draw is an automated process which uses randomly generated numbers. The raffle is not part of the main lottery draw, so therefore the numbers will not be drawn along with The Health Lottery numbers.

Q: Why are there less raffle prizes on Wednesday?

A: Just like the main Health Lottery Wednesday draw; on a Wednesday we have fewer prizes available to our players.

Q: Why do you keep stopping and starting promotions, I find this very confusing and it makes the game hard to understand?

A: That is the nature of promotions. Our promotions are designed to be a short term incentive to encourage people to play The Health Lottery.

Match2

Why can’t I choose my own numbers for the free ticket promotion?

The Free Ticket was designed to be issued as a Quick Pick because these are faster to process for retailers. As we expect to issue a very large number of free tickets, we did not want to burden our retailers with extra work issuing these tickets and be responsible for long queues at the till across the country.

Can I choose the draw the free ticket is entered into?

No, the free ticket will be for the immediate next draw after redemption. The system has been set up this way to ensure the prize structure works correctly.

Why can’t I have the cash equivalent of £1?

The promotion is for a free ticket and not a £1 prize as offering a cash prize would be more expensive for us as an operator and make the promotion not viable.

If I match 2 numbers on more than one line do I receive a free ticket for each line?

Yes.

If I match more than 2 numbers on a line do I receive the cash prize and the free ticket?

No, you win the highest prize only. The prizes cannot be aggregated.

Am I eligible to claim a free ticket if I match 1 main number plus the bonus ball?

No, two main numbers have to be matched.

I play in advance so if I match two numbers for more than one week can I collect the free tickets for all winning weeks at the same time?

Tickets are valid for 180 days after the draw date and prizes can be claimed at any time during the validity period

How long is the promotion running for?

The promotion is running from 12th March to the 30th of April.

Is the timescale to claim a 2 ball match free ticket standard at 180 days from date of draw even if the promotion has ended?

Yes, two ball match free tickets can be claimed up to 180 days after the draw they were entered into. The free ticket will be generated for entry into the next available draw and any prizes associated with this ticket can be collected within 180 days of the draw date entered.

I don’t have access to internet/web-site, how will I know when the promotion is due to end?

I have a two ball match and cash prize of up to £250 how do I claim my prizes?

You can collect both the free ticket and cash prize from any participating Post Office.

If this is not possible:

Alternatively we can send you a postal claim form and we can process the payment and free ticket for you however please be aware that we do recommend the ticket is sent to us by RM Special Delivery which will require a trip to the post office. The postal payment process can take up to 10 working days from receipt of your completed claim form so you may want to collect from the Post Office as the payment is immediate.

I have a cash prize of more than £250 and have matched 2 balls, how do I claim the prize?

We will send you a claim for, simply complete this and return your winning ticket to us. This is for call centre information only.

I play online, am I still eligible for the free ticket promotion?

Yes, the quick pick ticket will be issued to you automatically.

How will the free ticket show in my online account?

The ticket will appear as ‘Quick Pick entry into the next draw’.

Do any wins associated with the free ticket go into my wallet like other prize amounts?

Yes, like any other win.

Will I receive an automatic e-mail notification confirming the 2 ball match and the QP entry made?

Yes.

I only play one day of the week, will my free ticket be for the day I usually play or the next available draw?

The free ticket will be for the next available draw.

Do I qualify for the two ball match promotion if my original ticket was obtained using the Daily Star free ticket coupon?

Yes, these tickets are treated like any other for prize purposes.

I have matched 2 numbers and won more than £50, why can’t I collect the free ticket at retail outlet and claim the cash prize through the post?

Because the maximum prize in retail is £50 however cash prizes up to £250 can be collected from the Post Office.
