Peterborough: The Luckiest City in Britain?

If you follow our Winners’ stories (and why wouldn’t you?), you’ll know that we had a marvellous syndicate win in Peterborough in July 2019.  The eight-strong finance team from News UK won a tidy £10,000!  You can read the full story here, including what the team plan to spend their big winnings on.  But here’s the thing – it’s not the only story from that neck of the woods!

Yes, there must be something in the water in Peterborough and the surrounding area, because we’ve had various prizes heading there in recent months.  That includes several £10,000 wins, and a winner of our £25,000 jackpot!  Remember, for a guaranteed cash prize of £10,000, you only need to match four balls plus the bonus ball.  Five balls wins the jackpot!

Whether you do lottery online, in-store or via direct debit subscription, the rules are the same – and every ticket also earns you a free entry into our monthly £250,000 Mega Raffle.  We wouldn’t be surprised if that quarter-million prize ends up heading to a certain Cambridgeshire town soon!  There’s obviously something about it attracting the dosh…

And the winning in Peterborough isn’t just confined to our main Health Lottery draws.  We can also tell you that over on Health Games, our 18+ sister website, a Peterborough resident won one of the website’s biggest ever giveaways.  Health Games offers over 900 games and slots, each with their own odds and potential jackpots.  However, the Mega Jackpots games – Cleopatra, Golden Goddess and Siberian Storm, Wheel of Fortune and Ocean Belles – are among the site’s most lucrative prizes.  Betting on the Cleopatra Mega Jackpots game, with just a 20p stake, one Peterborough player bagged £747,425!

We also offer our warmest congratulations to Dean Weymes, who won one of The National Lottery’s first “Set for Life” draws.  Mr Weymes will receive £10,000 every month for the next 30 years, allowing him to pursue his dream job as a scriptwriter.  And where was he living?  You guessed it – Peterborough!  That’s some change in fortune from working shifts and weekends.

Is Peterborough the luckiest city in Britain?  We’re thinking it must be up there!  Others have laid claim to that title over the years, of course – ranging from Kilmarnock to Leeds to Romford.  That said, any 16+ player across England, Scotland and Wales has a chance to win those big Health Lottery prizes.  Just don’t forget to play!
