Money raised through The Health Lottery goes directly where it’s needed most in our community, supporting vital local services which wouldn’t otherwise exist.
The Health Lottery and HealthAble CIC
HealthAble CIC raises money through The Health Lottery for projects and charities at the heart of our communities. Grants are made by the People’s Health Trust, a registered charity that works specifically with HealthAble.
So far, more than £1.8 million funding has supported these fantastic causes in the Cumbria and Northumberland region.
Where does money raised by HealthAble CIC go in our area?
Money raised by HealthAble CIC through The Health Lottery has backed local branches of important charities such as the Royal Voluntary Service, Sustrans and Youth Sport Trust. It’s also funding charities that provide care, home-grown initiatives such as lunchtime clubs, art groups and community workshops.
It’s even helping to turn one of the Community Centre’s meeting rooms into a soft play zone to make a welcoming place for single parents and families with disabled children.
Causes supported using money raised by HealthAble CIC:
- £5,364 to provide a volunteer support group at The Ewanrigg Local Trust
- £45,437 to support young LGBT people with Pride in West Cumbria
- £27,968 to help communities organise and react with Sustainable Carlisle
