#HealthLotteryRocks: We’re Taking Over The Emirates!
We are delighted to announce that Health Lottery Scotland is taking over the Emirates Arena in Glasgow on 17th March!
Since 2011, over £10 million has been raised for health-related causes in Scotland through The Health Lottery. Many of those good causes help build connections and improve wellbeing for a wide range of people. It is in keeping with that mission, and ethos, that The Health Lottery will be at the Emirates Arena alongside the Glasgow Rocks – Scotland’s only professional basketball franchise!
The Rocks will be taking on the Worcester Wolves at home in the British Basketball League, at 5:00pm on 17th March.
Also in attendance are People’s Health Trust – who distribute money raised through The Health Lottery – and PROFF (Promoting Roles of Father Figures), a local charity supported by funds raised through Health Lottery Scotland. PROFF are committed to providing opportunities for father figures, thereby highlighting the importance that positive male role models make to their children’s prospects. Beneficiaries of the charity will be joining us on the main court!
We are also very pleased that Mr Grainger Whitson, winner of the most recent £250,000 Mega Raffle on 1st March, will be joining us for the game.
Martin Ellice, Joint Managing Director at The Health Lottery, said: “I am thrilled that Health Lottery Scotland will be at the game; this is one of our most successful regions, in terms of raising funds for good causes. Working with the Glasgow Rocks is very much in keeping with our staunch belief in improving wellbeing. I would also like to extend a personal welcome to PROFF, and thank them for the fantastic work that they do. Enjoy the game, everyone!”
The Health Lottery has raised over £107 million for health-related causes throughout Great Britain. This month’s society is Health Lottery North East & Cumbria.
