Health Lottery Yorkshire & Humber

Formed from former CICs HealthAmaze, HealthBloom, HealthLevel, HealthRich and HealthWin, this region covers North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and East Riding of Yorkshire. The Health Lottery has raised over £11 million for the Yorkshire & Humber region. The first Health Lottery Yorkshire & Humber draw is slated for 1 June 2019.

Yorkshire & Humber Health CIC is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account number 26322.

Money raised through The Health Lottery in Yorkshire has been granted to causes supporting older people, homeless people and those with dementia – among others. In terms of community causes, funding has also underpinned sport, creative, educational and community club initiatives in the region. Below are some examples of these:

  • £19,196 to Special Stars Foundation in Hull, who provide sensory play activities for children and young people with learning difficulties, as well as a platform for their family members to socialise
  • £20,334 to Out of Character, who support people with mental health needs in York to write, rehearse and perform their own theatre productions that demonstrate the challenges they face
  • £23,298 to East Thirsk Community Association, who bring parents, babies and toddlers together to build their social connections and their confidence at a safe community hub in Thirsk, Yorkshire
