Maureen delightedly told us: “I have been playing the Health Lottery for years, so this really is a dream come true.  Really, this is the best Christmas present I could ever imagine!

"We always spend Christmas at home – but this year, we’re going to the local hotel to really celebrate as a family.  The champagne corks will be popping!”

Maureen’s husband, Fred, added: “We’ll definitely be having an amazing Christmas this year.”

Maureen also revealed how much it means to her to see local causes receiving vital support.

“I’m a big supporter of The Health Lottery,” she said.

“It means a lot to see money going back to charities in Scotland, and I will continue to play.”
