The National Kidney Federation, which campaigns for kidney patients and provides vital support to their families, will receive a grant of £5,000 to continue its work.

The organisation is the only charity in the UK run by kidney patients for kidney patients, and this funding will help them expand their services and reach more people who need support.

This award is part of The Health Lottery’s wider commitment to help raise funds to support projects that improve health and wellbeing in communities across Great Britain.

Since its launch,  more than £135 million has been raised through The Health Lottery, funding thousands of health initiatives that make a real difference in people’s lives.

Martin Ellice, Managing Director of The Health Lottery, said: “We are delighted that the National Kidney Federation has been chosen by the public to receive this grant. The work they do to support kidney patients and their families is invaluable. Thanks to players of The Health Lottery, we can continue supporting charities across Great Britain who are improving health and wellbeing in communities every day.”

Alongside the main grant, six other charities have each been awarded £500 donations in recognition of their important work.

These are Arts for Dementia, Asthma Relief Charity, Epilepsy Scotland, Heart Heroes, SKCIN – The Karen Clifford Skin Cancer Charity, and the Teapot Trust.

These donations highlight the breadth of causes supported by players of The Health Lottery, from chronic illness and mental health to community wellbeing and family support.
